Orbilia rosea?
Juuso Äikäs, 21-07-2021 13:09
Yesterday I found some rose-coloured Orbilias growing on a fallen, decorticated branch of a deciduous tree. The branch is next to a little stream that is now still due to drought, but in wetter periods I think has a slow stream.

The spores measure 7.1 - 9.2 × 1.5 - 1.8 µm and the SBs 3.3 - 4.4 µm. The upper spores in the asci are oriented SBs upwards.

O. luteorubella is of course similar, but could this fit O. rosea better?

Re : Orbilia rosea?
I tend to O. rosea because of the apo colour and the occurrence in a stream. But the distinction without DNA or conidia is generally difficult.

Ok, thank you. I'll have to start sequencing samples... within twenty years.
