This species was found on a branch of Fraxinus excelsior in Uppsala, Sweden. Could it be a Cryptadelphia, Trichosphearia or something else?
Sp. 18-25 x 5-6, 0-3 septate, 1-4 guttulate.
All suggestions appreciated!
Best regards
Karl

Re : Cryptadelphia? Trichosphaeria?
Hi Karl
The teleomorph stage of Cryptadelphia is often accompanied by its anamorph that is needed for identification: see paper by Reblova & Seifert 2004. The “hairs” on your 1st photo could be the conidiophores. The conidia are characteristic versicolourous, broadly ellipsoid to obovoidal.

Re : Cryptadelphia? Trichosphaeria?
Thanks Eduard!
I have searched for conidia several times but unfortunately never found any. Good to know that the conidia are necessary, I will put this one away for now.
