Hypomyces on Helvella?
Lepista Zacarias, 23-02-2021 01:27
Dear all,

I would like to identify the fungus growing on a litle and immature Helvella found in a barrier bordering a field road, among moss. Since most of this kind of fungus are host specific I would like to know thid one. Can anyone help?

I attach some photos and the dimensions of the spores found:
(11.3) 12.3 - 19 (22) × (11.3) 11.32 - 16.4 (21.2) µm
Q = 1 - 1.17 (1.2) ; N = 21
Me = 14.5 × 13.3 µm ; Qe = 1.1

Thanks in advance,
zaca

Hi Zaca,

you should compare your find to Hypomyces cervinus.

Best,

Björn

Hi Björn again,
I saw the photos in
http://www.gorjanski-gobar.si/as/1html/Hypomyces_cervinus.htm
which are a complete match with what I observed.
Thanks again for the help,
