Hi againThese ascomata grew on corticated wood of Acacia melanoxylon lying on the ground in the NW of Spain. The colour of the hymenium varies from whitish to greyish and becomes amber in drier specimens. The excipulum is brown or orange-brown (pigmented textura angularis o globulosa-angularis) and the margins are not overflowing. Ascomata KOH negative.
Asci are IKI negative with croziers and form spores with high lipid content which only septate at maturity and always outside the asci. The paraphyses are filiform, barely dilated at the apex lacking refringent content, so I think Pyrenopeziza is the appropriate genus for this collection, a genus with very few lignicolous species, none of which are coincident.
Do you have any idea that could help me?

where do you see differences to Pyrenopeziza-subviridula-160217 or Pyrenopeziza subviridula, ~2.XI.2020 or Pyrenopeziza, HB 7620b?
I think both "M." viridula and subviridula fit except that subviridula has amyloid asci. Your Hongo mollisioide ERD-7684 differs also a bit in the spores.
So viridula would be a good choice, though having shorter spores.
This group is in urgent need of sequencing, none appears to exist.

The fungus in your folder viridula IKI - biguttulate fits well but Svrcek's description of Mollisia viridula with greenish apothecia, much smaller asci, and paraphyses 'totae pigmento dilute luteo oleaceae impletae' is no longer so similar to this one.
I have studied it in living state and I have not seen any content in the paraphyses.

This yellowish pigment you have seen in your ERD 7194. That had smaller spores and I have it in the Mollisia folder under sublividula. A highly complicated matter.
Actually i got a bit confused with viriduly and lividula, but thereby I saw that your 7194 was misplaced in sublividula. It correctly had the name viridula and i think it does match Svrcek's species quite well.

I think you are right in saying that my ERD-7194 matches better with Svrcek's description of Mollisia viridula than this one on Acacia. The yellowish content of the paraphyses is clearly visible and this could place it better in Mollisia than in Pyrenopeziza.

Yes, may be. These well-documented finds should be sequenced, it is a pity not to do - if it weren't so expensive.

Yes. Not only is it not cheap, but the sequences are often dirty or even illegible, And it's money down the drain.

very interesting. But your new fotos seem to show paraphyses with more guttulate contents (later fusing to larger units) - so I would not necessarily stay at Mollisia with initially elongate vacuolar bodies (?). I am looking forward to Zottos opinion.
