A small disco that bleeds when cut

The asco was a small greyish disco growing on the damp bark of a broadleaved tree which I thought was Alnus glutinosus which grew at the edge of a large pond surrounded by beech and oak trees as well. The discs grew in ones and twos scattered across the bark.
A general view will show its appearance. The remarkable feature of bleeding occurred when the fresh fruitbody was cut. This does not happen when the dried specimen is cut nor when a rehydrated specimen is cut.
The disc was set upon a scanty subiculum of dark hyphae.
There were no hairs.
A dried and a rehydrated specimen were put into KOH. There was no colour leakage to see with the dissecting microscope.
The asci were 53x4 ?m, J+ in Melzer's reagent showing a tiny lenticular blue body.
The paraphyses were slender filiform, 1 ?m in diameter with a slightly broader tip.
The escipulum was made up of slightly angular cuboidal cells which stained dark in Melzer. The edge cells were elliptical to clavate in shape.
A few loose spores were found, 7.7 x 1.5-2 ?m; while spores inside asci measured 5.9-6.5x1.5

Re : A small disco that bleeds when cut
Where are you from? Regrettably the micros are in dead state, except for spores. So it is impossible to say if it is a Mollisia or not. But the red colour is strange.
So you see this red colour is confined to fresh specimens, as are many microscopic features. I fear you do not have it fresh anymore?

Re : A small disco that bleeds when cut
Sorry I did not say that I found it in a public park near Bingley, Bradford, England. It is ages since I did find it - on 21 June 2018. The red colour was confined to the fresh, cut specimen. When I examined it fresh in water I saw no colour in asci or paraphses. I do have a dried specimen which did remind me of a Molissia.
Thank you for looking at it.

Re : A small disco that bleeds when cut
This would be really interesting to recollect and study from the living tissues.

I shall certainly go back again after shut down when I am brave enough to venture so far. And I shall tell you if I find it.
Many thanks for your help
