Black spiny pyrenomycete growing on Hyphodontia
Ethan Crenson, 04-01-2021 06:07
Hello all,

Does anyone recognize this black spiny pyreno growing on Hyphodontia arguta?  I only found one fruiting body, but perhaps it will be enough and someone will recognize it.  Asci IKI-, 100-113 x 10-11µm. Spores hyaline 2 & 3 septate, guttulate, 15-21 x 4-5µm. There were also a lot of bacilliform to tear-shaped conidia present.

Thnaks,

Ethan

Andy,

Helminthosphaeria corticiorum looks like it's brown spored.  So this collection is immature maybe?  I'll have to go back to the collection site and keep looking for it.

Thank you for the lead!
