Dear friends
in a heatherfield (Calluna) on soil I found orange discos (diameter 2-5 mm).
The spore-dimensions are 21-23x9,5-10 micron (with oranamentation) and 15-17x6,5-8 micron without ornamentation. Ascus ca 230x12 micron. Further info: see foto's.
Melastiza flavorubens and Aleuria congrex came into my mind but I am not at all sure.
I hope you can help me.
Friendly greetings
Jac Gelderblom

Re : Melastiza or Aleuria??
Il devait y avoir des petites mousses sur le sol. La forme très spéciale des spores semblant ornées de petites épines me fait penser à Octospora bridei à spores mesurant normalement : 22-26 x 11,5-13 µm.

Re : Melastiza or Aleuria??
I know Aleuria with biguttulate (living) spores abd Melastiza with multiguttulate spores, but I am not sure if this applies to all species of each genus.

Re : Melastiza or Aleuria??
Jac

Re : Melastiza or Aleuria??
I consider these spores mature. O. bridei is a minute species and has no such terminal caps.
I do not know A. exigua, and I opnly know Aleuria with a complete or incomplete net, but none with such small dense warts.

Re : Melastiza or Aleuria??
Thanks everyone.
I also considered the possibility of A. exigua,
The terminal caps fits better in that species but what bothers me is the lack of any trace of af a reticulum

Re : Melastiza or Aleuria??
Zooming in on the fourth spore seen from the rightbottom corner you can see there is a reticulum ont the spore.
So for me it is now defenitively Aleuria exigua
Everybody thanks for your input!!!
Greetings
