I think I have Incrucipulum capitatum here in NYC. This was found by a friend of mine yesterday on a Quercus leaf, probably Q. alba. They are very small >1mm white cups, more or less sessile, with stout (compared to the apo size) hairs.

The hairs are very thick walled, septate, with crystalline encrustations at the apex. They are also minutely warted for the full length. The longest hair I could find measured 86 x 7µm.

Paraphyses are lanceolate, extending above the asci about 12-15µm. They are 44-50 x 3.7-3.9µm

Asci 30-35 x 3.8-4.7µm. 8 spored, although I saw at least one 4 spored ascus, if I am not mistaken. IKI+, though you cannot tell from my photo.

Spores fusiform, hyaline. 5.5-6.6 x 1.2-1.5µm.

Ectal excipulum also minutely warted, fairly thick walled, textura prismatica.

With spores as small as these and on this substrate, I think I. captitatum is the only possibility. Am I correct?
