Eriospora leucostoma
Riet van Oosten, 26-01-2020 09:52
Riet van Oosten
Hello,

Found by Gerrit Reitsma on Juncus effusus, January 2020, The Netherlands.

In Microfungi on Land Plants I came across Eriospora leucostoma (page 537/538, plate 195, 2000) found on Carex and Cladium.

Eriospora leucostoma is mentioned here on Juncus:

Re : Unknown anamorph or .... Eriospora leucostoma?
Hi Riet

This should indeed be Eriospora leucostoma. Recently I collected the species also from Juncus effusus. Apparently not very many coelomycetes exist with such long, thread-like conidia. A recent description with pictures can be found in FUSE 6, page 188: https://fuse-journal.org/images/Issues/Vol6Art9.pdf . It was collected from both Typha and Juncus. Note also the relatively large conidiomata with the white to greyish ostiole.

Regards, Eduard
