Re : Unknown Preussia
Hello Joop,

it looks much like Preussia terricola, but therefore your measurements seems not correct, they are too small!

Same problem I've seen in your question to Coprotus spec. Look here.

Maybe Coprotus trichosurus, but your measurements are also much too small.

Please check your details!

Regards, Norbert

Re : Unknown Preussia
Hello Norbert,

To be certain I checked the calibration of my camera with the microscope and it appeared to be off. So thanks for the information that measurements were incorrect.
So here is the new information about the species in my opinion it is P. funiculata mainly because of the obliquely septated spore cells and the lack of hairs as with P. terricola.

Documentation used: Studies of coprophilous ascomycetes VII. Preussia
R.F. Cain Can. J. Bot. 39 (1961) 1636-1638

Ascocarps: 378 um

Asci: 8-spored; 110.8-172.5x16.0-19.4 um with a very long stalk.

Spores: Polyseriate; 4-celled; 29.7-34.2x5.0-6.1 um; obliquely septated; deeply constricted.

Paraphyses: septated with cilindrical and swollen cells.

Re : Unknown Preussia
I agree with Preussia funiculata, Joop!

Now the measurements seems to be right;-)

Re : Unknown Preussia
Thanks for the advice about the measurements but I  am not sure about the Coprotus.

Re : Unknown Preussia
Hello Joop.

Maybe your measuring micrometer is a little low in the data, you should try recalibrating it!

Michel.
