Discomycete on Paeonia
Gernot Friebes, 16-05-2018 19:31
Hi,

this discomycete is unknown to me. It grows on a stem of Paeonia next to Lophodermium paeoniae. The inconspicuous ascomata have a fine, darker margin/excipulum which is nicely seen under the microscope. The ascospores measure 7.5–8.5 x 2.2–2.5 µm. The asci have croziers, the apical apparatus is strongly blue in Lugol. The paraphyses are widened at the apex and don't have any remarkable content.

The best I could think of was Pyrenopeziza but it might be something else entirely...

Best wishes,
Gernot
