I collected a Dermea on Prunus (likely P. spinosa), which, unfortunately, didn't produce any conidia (even though conidiomata are apparently present, see macrophotos). Is it possible to identify it based on the sexual morph? The ascospores measure about (13.5)15.8–17.5 x 3.9–5.2 µm. Thanks for your opinion!

Usually this is Dermea prunastri. Descriptions in the lit. are quite inadequate. I remember the conidia were not well figured.

I did read that discussion but it is mainly about the size and shape of the conidia, so not particularly helpful in my case, unfortunately.

I think the species are too similar in the asci and spores to permit distinction. Only I remember that D. cerasi has inamyloid asci (perhaps not always).

Up to now I had only the possibility, sexual stages of D. cerasi and prunastri ("padi") to examine, no distinction was possible there for me, I have not exhausted, however, definitely yet not all possibilities. However, I would not maintain broadmindedly, that the species shown by Gernot D. cerasi is only, because at the same moment both stages are to be seen.
