Xylaria ? species
Pauline. Penna, 18-12-2017 12:24
Bonjour tous

These tiny Xylaria were found on a fallen branch of Prunus spinosa at the base of a hedge in Cornwall, UK.

Stromata 3-4 mm ,upright, many mucronate, crust 60microns thick. Stalks with sparse hairs.
Perithecia subglobose 500 microns wide. Ostioles papillate.
Asci 215-230 x 6 microns. Ascal apparatus urn shaped 5 x 3.
Ascospores 18-20 x 5-7 microns ellipsoidal not equilateral, germ slit nearly full length. Some asci 4 spored.

Anamorph present 2-3 mm with hairy stalk.

As the anamorph was present I thought it would be X. hypoxylon but the spores are too big.
Could it be X. arbuscular var. plenofissura ?
Help please.
