Pezicula cinnamomea ? sur branche morte de Tilia ?
Bernard CLESSE, 10-11-2017 18:48
Bernard CLESSEBonsoir à tous,

Voici ce que je pense être Pezicula cinnamomea sur branche pourrie, de tilleul très probablement.

Qu'en pensez-vous ?

I tend to say P. cinnamomea, yes. The apical ring should react deep red as in most species.

Thank you for your answer, Zotto. It is possible that my lugol is no longer of good quality.

Hi, Zotto, here are apical ring of asci with the brownish-reddish colour in IKI + Melzer.

that's good, I only don't understand why you added Melzer. Melzer may show the redbrown stain for a few seconds but then the chloralhydrate clears the reaction.

OK thank you, Zotto ! As my lugol is old, I thought that by putting a little more iodine with the melzer that the effect would be strengthened ... :o)

Not sure what kind of MLZ you have. If you put enough of it, you should see no reaction anymore, though the plasma is yellow. If the red is still there in full strength, your MLZ is more probably Lugol and lacks the chloral hydrate. But you can smell this substance also.
