Could anyone confirm that this is Pseudoplectania nigrella.
Found in moss under Picea. Dark brown to almost black 2.8cm across for the largest one. The outer surface covered in a mat of dark hairs. Spores smooth 11.5-13µ showing a distinct gellatinous outer layer. Paraphyses slightly swollen many forked towards the top.
Thanks
Mal

Re : Pseudoplectania nigrella
Hello,
P. lignicola (which sometimes grows on soil) is excluded, because spores are placed excentrically in the surrounding membranaceous sheath. P. sphagnophila and lignicolous P. melaena should have hooked paraphyses (Otidea-like). But I don't have enough data about other species.

You precisely describe what I find in North America as Pseudoplectania nigrella
