Discomycete with long spores
Daniel Ghyselinck, 17-01-2016 14:39

I found this strange discomycete on wood of deciduous tree.

It is very small, about 0,2 - 0,3 mm.

The spores are very variable in shape and in size. The long ones 37 - 48 x 3,5 - 4,2 µm, with up to 7 septa. But some are more ellipsoid (see the ascus on the righ). No reaction with IKI.

It seems that the apothecia are on a dark subiculum, maybe the imperfect state ?

I don't have any idea, even for the genius !

Best regards,

Daniel

Re : Discomycete with long spores
Hi Daniel,

look towards Strossmayeria.

Best wishes,
Gernot

Thanks a lot Gernot,

It fits quite well with Strossmayeria basitricha.

Best regards,
