We have had a lot of dry weather lately and a log in an area normally underwater has produced this Scutellinia.Hairs are mostly curved max 900 x 30 up to 20 septa and with large forked base. The spores average 20.5 x 14.5 with distinct warts of differing sizes.
Could this be S patagonica?

I did look at S subhirtella but I based my suggestion on the split in Schumacher.
...ascospores broadly ellipsoid tubercles and warts unevenly dispersed - S patagonica
...ascospores ellipsoid tubercles evenly distributed - S subhirtella
and the first seemed to fit better.

Can be effectively towards S.patagonica but have you compared precisely with S.crinita? I find it quite regularly in this kind of environment.

I have found various species on this boggy nature reserve and S. crinita is one of the most common. I actually found one on the same visit on a small piece of wood.
This particular specimen had spores up to 15µ so I felt that took S crinita out of the picture. I didnt feel S patagonica fitted perfectly but it was the closest I could get.
