Ophiostoma or Ceratocystis

Belongs this to the genus Ophiostoma or Ceratocystis?
Does anybody know about its occurrence on Hypoxylon?
Is there a modern key to these genera?

This is indeed very interesting! I am specializing in the ophiostomatoid fungi and during the last few years we have found a small number of isolates of Ophiostoma (not Ceratocystis) from fruiting bodies of basisidiomycetes. This does not fit the general notion that most Ophiostoma are associates of bark beetles and/or wood-inhabiting. I have thus only 6 weeks ago put a new student onto a project to invetsigate the biology of these isolates from basidiomycetes. And although Hypoxylon is an ascomycete, the fungus you found crealy fit within this group. It seems as if you are based in the Netherlands? It just so happens that I am in Utrecht this week (leaving 26 Apr) for meetings at the CBS. Is there any way in which you can make this material available to me? I would like to try and make a culture from this fungus, but it is also essential that an herbarium specimen be preserved.
I would appreciate if we can communicate further by email, it will be easier for me than via this website.
