Just to let you all see how colourful ascomycetes can be in the tropics.
I found these species in Surinam on a very wet and rotten branch of a tamarind tree.
I'll take the branch home with me when I go back to see if it also holds freshwater ascomycetes.

Yes, clearly Cookeina tricholoma, a common tropical species.
