what do you thing about Daldinia cf. macrospora ?
Regards
Pavol
p.s.
On death fallen tree (Fraxinus or Alnus incana)
Fruitbody: max. 25 x 25 x 30 mm
The perithecia 800-1000 x 300-450 µm
The asci not found
The ascospores (10)12-25(35) x 7-10(13) µm
The perispore dehiscent in 10 % KOH
In 10% KOH pigment not visible or very weakly grey / green
such overmature stromata are hard to determine. The grey green pigments occur in species of the petriniae complex. The stromata are not typical for D. petriniae and rather suggest D. lloydii.
Do not take into account those huge ascospores, they originate from few-spored asci.
Try to find it again in good mature condition.
Cheers,
Jacques
Hi Jacques,
thank you very much. I will try to find it again :-)
