what do you thing about Daldinia cf. macrospora ?

Fruitbody: max. 25 x 25 x 30 mm


The perithecia 800-1000 x 300-450 µm


The asci not found


The ascospores (10)12-25(35) x 7-10(13) µm


The perispore dehiscent in 10 % KOH


In 10% KOH pigment not visible or very weakly  grey / green

Hi Pavol,
such overmature stromata are hard to determine. The grey green pigments occur in species of the petriniae complex. The stromata are not typical for D. petriniae and rather suggest D. lloydii.
Do not take into account those huge ascospores, they originate from few-spored asci.
Try to find it again in good mature condition.
