ASCO BEAUTIFULLY ORNATE
Francisco Calaça,

I found this ascomycete in horse dung. Initially, the external appearance, i thought it is a Gymnoascus specie. But when i visualized the ascus, i changed my opinion, because it has in its wall a hexagonal ornamentation. Hyaline spores, targeted and larger than 10 microns. Can anyone give some guidance?
Thanks for attention!?

Re : ASCO BEAUTIFULLY ORNATE
Hello Francisco
those don't look like asci to me; and those spores could well be 'strays'. I would want to see spores inside an ascus before giving an opinion.
amitiés
Chris
PS did you get the previous comment of mine on your Thamnostylum piriforme?

Re : ASCO BEAUTIFULLY ORNATE
Hi Chris, thanks for your comment!
Unfortunately, i don't have more pics this specie. ?Was very inconspicuous, and only watched once.? I have such doubts and others too. And how i no have more samples...
P.S.: I don't receive your comments about T. piriforme, unfort?unately... if you want to send, is most welcome!? See a pic in your email!

Re : ASCO BEAUTIFULLY ORNATE
Hi again,
I am now pretty sure that these "asci" are thecamoeba. Maybe of the genus Euglypha. C.f. here:
