Taille: (20)21-25 x (5)5.5-6.5 µ.

Une idée?
Amitiés - LUC.

Re : s/Q. robur: Seimatosporium? Discosia?
Hi Luc

seems to be a Pestalotia. I have no collections or photos, but go to your Browser and search for images with that name.

Hi Zotto and thanks,
That looks like it. Now to find what can grow on Quercus leaves.
Grove has a suggestion, and the size of spores match:

Hi Luc

the fungus is  not in Ellid & Ellis (on Quercus), and I have no idea. But the one by Saccardo has 4 setae, and all at one end.

Re : s/Q. robur: Seimatosporium? Discosia?
Yes. That's why I remain careful, and I prefer to note it as cf. Pestalotia, while waiting for better.
Cheers - LUC.

Re : s/Q. robur: Seimatosporium? Discosia?
Hi Luc and Zotto,

why not a Mono[sic!]chaetia? There are some recorded on Quercus leaves, as saccardiana or kanensis. I add Nag Raj's drawing of the latter but I don't know how to key out the species. (Key attached)

Cheers

Re : s/Q. robur: Seimatosporium? Discosia?
Hi Martin,
When I follow the key and I compare with photos and data's of my sample, I get:
- Conidia's smooth
- Conidia's 4-septate (not 3)
- Long basal appendage
- Color rather brownish than olive, no green tint; as for the width, two options can fit, as mean width is around 6µ. But it can indeed lead to Monochaetia kansensis.

Thanks, Martin, I think you got it!

What's the complete ref of this book?

Cheers - LUC.

Re : s/Q. robur: Seimatosporium? Discosia?
Hi Luc,

I am happy this was of help.

The complete title is: Nag Raj, T.R. (1993) Coelomycetous anamorphs with appendage bearing conidia. Waterloo (not in Belgium but in Ontario, Canada... ;-) )

Best regards

Martin
