Lichen?
Martin Bemmann, 06-06-2010 21:21
Martin BemmannHello connaiseures,

I have here something strange to me. It developped on a dead partially decorticated twiglet I collected, because on a first glance it featured some black "pertithecia". I kept it moist for some days and then I found this strange thing. It is gelatinous, warted on the top and grows on a sheet of algae, although I found others meanwhile without this green addition. So it might been a coincidence. Under the microscope I was puzzeled again seeing asci with four and eight spores but in chambers separated by septa (below an example with 4 spores).

Has someone an idea in which direction I should proceed? Because of the algae I thought it is a lichen, but without them...??

Best regards,

Martin
