Unknown Black Discomycete from South Carolina
Danny Newman, 02-05-2018 17:44
Danny NewmanHello AscoFrance,

This was found on fallen, decorticate wood of Eastern Redcedar (Juniperus virginiana) in Donalds, South Carolina, USA, and was originally mistaken for Thaxteriella.  It appears to be something completely different.

Both mounts are in 5% KOH.  The first is at 400x, the second at 1000x.  I unfortunately do not yet have measurements for the microstructures as I am working out calibration compatibility issues between two pieces of microscope software.  All tissues IKI-.

As always, many thanks in advance.

-Danny
