?Elaiopezia on eucalyptus
Zuidland Peter,

I have this yellow-green asco up to 20mm growing on thick Blue Gum eucalyptus bark, from native forest in SE Victoria, Australia; mostly solitary.
Diffuse blue on Asci with Lugol's, asci 310 x 15um
Spores show a nucleus and some internal granules, 18.7-21.3 x 9.3-11.1um
Paraphyces are coloured yellow, guttulate with clavate apices.
From limited internet references it appears like Elaiopezia waltersii, what does the group think?
Many thanks
Peter

Re : ?Elaiopezia on eucalyptus
Hello.
Elaiopezia is a good hypothesis, but E. waltersii has ornamented ascospores.
Probably an undescribed species...

Re : ?Elaiopezia on eucalyptus
Many thanks Nicolas, it is a species I have been seeing quite often for the past couple of years and its been very hard for me to identify.
I appreciate your thoughts on it.
Peter
