Dear guestsOn a wall in Veurne (B) we find a lot of Octospora on Bryum capilara. With multiple keys the result is O coccinea, but I am not satisfied because the spores I find are wider than in the description on octospora.de and FMBDS (Van Vooren). Where is my mistake?

Re : octospora coccinea ?
Dear Carl,
your collection represents an undescribed species that is relatively frequently recorded on Bryum capillare across Europe, see e.g. here https://bryophilous.co.uk/octospora-sp-bryum-capillare/, based on DNA it falls in the Octospora coccinea agg. but the spores are indeed different.
