Hi.
Only one small sporocarps (max. 4 mm in diameter) growing on moist soil in the middle of a forest road.
On the margins of the sporocarp, there is no hair at all. Only in some places can you observe flocs built of hyphae of unspecified form.
Smooth spores, surrounded by a sort of sheath (Tricharina type).
Paraphyses without content, septic, tops sometimes slightly widened and slightly curved.
No reaction to Lugol and KOH.
Any ideas?

Hello Mirek,
this forked ascus base is typical for Pulvinula, Boubovia and Geopyxis (and a few other species). I think Boubovia nicholsonii might be rather close, but I have no experience with this genus.

Both Pulvinula and Boubovia have carotenoids in the paraphyses (as well as Pseudaleura).
I agree with Viktorie. Regarding the ascus base, Geopyxis could be an option.

I completely forgot about this kind, maybe because I haven't met them in recent years because of the lack of rain.

One small fruiting body and not very well matured, so it's a waste of time. I will visit this place again soon. The weather situation this year is more friendly for mushrooms, although in my area, it wasn't raining until last week.

This smell is an inconstant character, sometimes present, sometimes not.

Maybe, but if it is present, it is very characteristic. I do not know any other fungus that smells like G. foetida/alpina/majalis-complex.

I agree with both of you:
The 'unpleasant smell-feature' can help with the determination of the genus.
When absent this feature is not worth a farthing.

Hello all
As I mentioned earlier, there was one small fruiting body (about 4 mm) available. I did not pay attention to the smell, but I suspect that if it was intense, then probably when taking the preparation I would have to feel it? Unfortunately, I didn't feel anything characteristic.
