Untereiner (1997) gives 11.7-14.6 x 3.3-4.7 um so your collection fits quite well.

Yes, this certainly looks like Capronia pulcherrima. I'd be very happy to attempt to culture this fungus if your collection has been air-dried. My mailing address is provided, below.

Hi Chris,
Very interested to hear about your Capronia-I recently found one (by accident) also on decorticated Salix. I wasn't familiar with the genus and it was Nick Aplin who suggested C. acutiseta (see http://ascofrance.com/forum?page=4). I don't normally go for these tiny ascos but Capronia has a lot going for it with setae and interesting spores. Was out today and did not find much but did turn up another Capronia which I'll post shortly.
