Similar to Nectriaceae?
Mirek Gryc, 08-03-2021 13:21
Hello everyone.
A few days ago I brought about 10 centimeter a piece of Corylus. He looked suspicion? Bark overgrown Helminthosporium sp. But between them under the magnifying glass I saw something else.
Under the microscope, I saw more precisely.
Initially, Ascomata was immature but after a few days of breeding I saw spores.
Ascomata very small, up to 200?m.
Spores bright brown:
(13.7) 13.8 - 16 (16.1) × (4.9) 5.1 - 5.8 (6) ?m
Q = (2.4) 2.5 - 3.1 (3.3); N = 9
Me = 15.1 × 5.4 ?m; QE = 2.8
Any ideas?
greetings
Mirek

Re : Similar to Nectriaceae?
Hi Adam
Thank you for the identification!
Now I know why I also associated myself from Nectriacee.
Synonyms: calonectria, dialonectria and Nectria.
greetings

Re : Similar to Nectriaceae?
Hello Mirek, No doubt  that this is Letendraea. I have a couple of collections in the herbarium. The last was when it occurred a few years ago in the garden here in Argyll on  a moribund shrubby Spiraea. There were thousands of ascocarps..
All the best,
Peter

Re : Similar to Nectriaceae?
Hi Peter
It looks like this is not a rare species. Perhaps it is unnoticeable because of your small size and the environment in which it is alive?
