Pestalotiopsis
Ismael Wind, 13-03-2023 17:55
This example was Found on pinus sylvestris needles. I think its a Pestalotiopsis but not sure wich one. Funerea? It had only one sept in the brown body, that looks like to be a rare thing. Size of Spores 17,5 - 20 x 6 only the brown is 10-12,5. Any thoughts?

Re : Pestalotiopsis
Hi Ismael,

Pestalotiopsis species have 4-septate spores with basal appendage, so to exclude here. We have to look elsewhere in the according family. Truncatella, which has 3-septate spores lacking a basal appendage, is the better chose.
This is Truncatella angustata (Pers.) Hughes, a mostly foliicolous and herbicolous species, collected on fruit of Olea too.

Regards,

Bernard
