Pycnidia on oak bullet galls
Bernard Declercq, 24-03-2023 16:08
Bernard DeclercqHello,

A friend of mine collected galls with pynidia:

Conidiomata erumpent, pycnidial/acervular (no papil), 0.6-1 mm diam., black.
Conidia ellipsoid, ovoid to pyriform, 11-15(16)x6-7.5 µm, thick-walled, minutely guttulate, smooth, subhyaline to pale brown.
Conidiogenous cell tapering, 11-16x2.5-3 µm, tip about 1 µm diam.,smooth, hyaline.

I have no idea where I have to look for. Your help is welcome.

Regards,

Bernard

Re : Pycnidia on oak bullet galls
Good evening Bernard,

On April 25 2018, I found the same conidiomata, probably on Andricus kollari (Knikkergalwesp op zomereik). I hereby provide some photos. This is purely informative as I failed identification ... maybe this will inspire others?

Kind regards,

François

dimensions conidia:

(10.4) 12.2 - 14.7 (15.6) × (6.9) 7.2 - 8.9 (9.3) µm
Q = (1.2) 1.4 - 1.9 (2) ; N = 30
Me = 13.3 × 8 µm ; Qe = 1.7
