Ascodichaena rugosa - Spore Appearance
Peter Thompson, 14-09-2012 13:40
Hello everyone,

Does anyone have illustrations of the ascospores for Ascodichaena rugosa?

It is a common fungus, but almost always found in its conidial state.

Ellis & Ellis only gives the spore measurements (18-24 x 13-16um).

Thanking you in anticipation,
Peter.

cheers

Thomas

PS It is quite common in the teleomorphic state if you look at the right host (Quercus) at the right time of year (late summer)

Hello Thomas,

Thank you for your response and the link to the Mycokey images. This has answered my question perfectly.

I did try to use the full version of Mycokey, following our meeting in South Yorkshire in May 2011, but unfortunately I could not get it to run on my laptop.

Best wishes,
Peter.

This is a collage of pictures of the article in which it is proposed Ascodichaena rugosa (Butin, 1977)
